NETTED WALLS ON JUMPING CASTLES

Jumping castles come in many different designs, shapes and sizes. FUNtastic 4 use castles with a combination of inflated walls, plain / printed panels and netting.
The netted walls on our castles perform several important functions:

  • Contain children within the castle.
  • Increases viewing for safer supervision.
  • Allows for greater airflow, keeping patrons cool especially on those really hot days.
  • Reduces wind resistance, allowing for greater anchorage safety.

The netting is designed so that the holes are small enough so that patrons cannot get their fingers caught within it.
All of our jumping castles have a small entry / exit opening in the front wall which help prevent kids from falling out. As for castles with a fully open front there are greater risks of an incident or injury.

ROOF ON CASTLES

FUNtastic 4 castles come with a built in roof which helps prevent:

  • Playing surface from getting too hot in direct sun.
  • Sunburn and heat exhaustion due to direct sun.
  • The playing surface from getting wet in a light shower, allowing for greater safety.

For everyone’s safety each roof comes with an emergency exit in case the castle deflates allowing for an extra, safe exit.

BLOWER COVERS

All our castles come with a blower cover as part of the inflatable. This provides extra safety as a barrier and a cover for a light drizzle.

SAFETY MATS

Safety mats are provided with every inflatable to ensure a soft landing in the case of a slip, trip or fall when entering or exiting the inflatable.

SAFETY

FUNtastic 4 believes safety and the well-being of its patrons are of the upmost importance. Our castles will only be erected and checked by a trained staff member.
All our castles are maintained, continuously checked and cleaned prior to each hire.

Also our electrical equipment is tested and tagged by a qualified electrician.
All this is to ensure each and every event that FUNtastic 4 is involved in is one of quality, safety and hygiene. Thus in turn everyone can enjoy the fun of the event.

SETUP & INSPECTION

Once we arrive at the event destination we will inspect the setup site to ensure there will be enough room around and above the castle for safety, check the ground for slope (no more than 0.5meter drop per 5 meter distance), clear any debris, ask if any underground piping or electrical, lay out the inflatable and erect, check inflatable for condition and safety of setup.

If a dry hire (no FUNtastic 4 staff required) explain the “Hire Agreement” and safe operations with the event holder (responsible person 18yrs or over), answer any question and ensure a full understanding is acknowledged, check over the inflatable and explain the points mentioned on the hire agreement, then have paper work signed off and we will leave you with the inflatable in your care to have a fun and safe event until collected later.

BAD WEATHER (wet or windy)

All our castles come with a shade roof which can provide some protection in a light shower but caution and common sense must be taken (operate as per “Hire Agreement”)in regards to water getting on to the playing surface.
Dangers and risks of operating the inflatable during bad weather (operating outside the requirements of the “Hire Agreement”):

  • Run off water and / or pools forming in and around the inflatable or electrical equipment.
  • Electrical equipment getting wet or sitting in pools of water.
  • Water collecting in pools on the roof causing castle structure to become unstable due to the excessive weight.
  • Slips, trips, falls on and around the castle – inside castle surface will become slippery and dangerous from being wet (if only a light shower, towel dry the surface prior to continuing play)
  • Patrons going on to the inflatable with wet feet will make the playing surface become slippery and dangerous (do not allow muddy feet onto the inflatable as the grit will damage it).
  • DO NOT OPERATE IN THE RAIN. Switch of the blower and power, remove all electrical equipment out of the rain as soon as possible. Contact FUNtastic 4 for further assistance as further steps will depend on each and every circumstance.
  • Do not operate in windy weather (i.e. large branches in motion, whistling in power lines & difficulty using umbrellas) as the castle will become unstable and no longer safe for patrons to be inside. Switch off blower and power and allow castle to deflate until wind has subsided to a safe level, allow castle to inflate fully prior to use.
  • If left operational during bad weather during such time in your care under the contract of the “Hire Agreement” and damage occurs to any part of the equipment you will be held liable for the repair / replacement for the damaged equipment.

FUNtastic 4 will not set up an inflatable during windy / raining weather. If raining or excessive wind on the morning of the booking we will contact you to discuss the weather in your area and if we proceed with the booking or not. Once the castle has been installed and the “Hire Agreement” is signed off, the hire is payable in full.
If the inflatable booking is cancelled on the morning of the hire due to bad weather, you will not be charged an additional cancellation fee. Your booking deposit is non refundable.

SUPERVISION OF AN INFLATABLE

Supervision of an inflatable is of the upmost importance, as poor supervision will directly affect the safety and wellbeing of all the patrons using the inflatable.
Prior to handover of the inflatable at your event, an adult (18 years or over) will be required to take upon the responsibility of being the Responsible Person (not under the influence of alcohol, drugs or elicit chemicals) to be trained in the safe operations of the inflatable by the FUNtastic 4 installer.

For all functions that are held in a public place but is a private function and not accessible to all members of the public must have an adult (18 years or over) supervising the castle at all times (being used or not). The inflatable must not be unattended at any time during the hire.  A FUNtastic 4 staff member can be supplied if requested for an additional price.

For all functions that are held in a public place and is accessible to all members of the public (e.g., fete, council events and corporate events) must be supervised by a trained FUNtastic 4 staff member. Blue Card (Working with children check QLD) accredited staff members are available on request.
